Xiaomi Mi Box 4K Android TV box launched, coming soon to the US

Xiaomi has teamed up with Google to bring the Mi Box with 4K streaming and Android TV built in. Xiaomi has announced it will also be the first OEM to team up with Google for its new VR platform called Daydream, all built on Android N.

This new sleek box will be HDR TV-ready and 4K compatible. It will be able to feed UHD (4K) video content at 60fps for the sharpest and smoothest video playback quality. It will also support HDMI 2.0a, a new standard of HDTV that’ll be enabled with the release of Android N. 


YouTube, Netflix, Vudu, and FandangoNOW are onboard for the new HDMI standard and HDR10 standard which promises to provide an improved viewing experience with pictures with high dynamic range.



Xiaomi Mi Box powered by Android TV comes in Black color and will first in the US, with other global markets to follow. Availability and pricing details will be announced soon.
