Nextbit Robin landing in India next week

A couple of weeks after announcing that it has received necessary approvals to sell the device in India, Nextbit has started sending invites for a May 25 event where it will launch the cloud-focused Robin smartphone.

There's currently no information on how much the handset will cost in India. In the US, it carried a $399 price tag at launch. To refresh, Robin's spec-sheet reads Snapdragon 808 SoC, 5.2" IPS 1080p display, 3GB RAM, 13MP/5MP camera combo, and 2,680 mAh battery.

One of the unique features of the handset is it can automatically back up photos and other data that haven't been used recently to the cloud to free up space on the device. Originally, the India launch was scheduled for April-end, but it got delayed. The device started shipping to Kickstarter backers in the country last week, and starting May 25, it will be available to the general public as well.
