Google offers jobs for drivers in Arizona to test self-driving cars

Google is growing its self-driving vehicle program in Chandler, Arizona and what better way to test self-driving cars than to make sure every car has a human operator inside. The operators must have clean driving records and are expected to provide detailed reports both verbally and written as to the behavior of the self-driving cars.

"The role of test driver is so new that there isn’t a particular type of person that we look for," said Brian Torcellini, head of operations for Google's Self-Driving Car testing program to The Republic. "We’ve hired people from all types of backgrounds, from English teachers to orbital welders."
