Apple has officially opened a new office in Hyderabad, as expected. The new digital center will focus on development of Maps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Apple said that this investment will accelerate Maps development and create up to 4,000 jobs. The new facility, located on the Waverock campus, will provide LEED-certified home for the expanding Maps team.
Tim Cook, Apple CEO said,
"Apple is focused on making the best products and services in the world and we are thrilled to open this new office in Hyderabad which will focus on Maps development. The talent here in the local area is incredible and we are looking forward to expanding our relationships and introducing more universities and partners to our platforms as we scale our operations."
The announcement of Hyderabad center comes a day after Apple revealed that it will open iOS App Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru. The company is expected to open three retail stores will in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai in next 18 months.
Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao said,
