A 5.7-inch LG Stylus 2 Plus unveiled in Taiwan

LG has announced the Stylus 2 Plus phablet in Taiwan, though announced may be an overstatement. Had it not been for a TENAA certification, the smartphone would have gone unnoticed for who knows how long.

The Stylus 2 Plus is undoubtedly the better phablet, compared to the already announced Stylus 2. Its 5.7-inch display gets a proper FullHD resolution and the phone is powered by a more powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 430.

This means an octa-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, versus half the number of cores in the Stylus 2. 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage round up the list of chief upgrades.

The Stylus 2 Plus also has the upper hand in the imaging department, with a 16MP primary camera. The 8MP front facing unit is the same as the one on the non-Plus, though.

Measuring 155 x 79.6 x 7.4 mm, the Stylus 2 Plus weighs 146g. The battery inside it is a 3,000mAh unit. The LG Stylus 2 supports Cat. 4 LTE, has dual-SIM slots and boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Priced at TWD 10,990 ($340), the LG Stylus 2 Plus will hit the stores in late June. Global availability remains to be detailed.
